Brunello di Montalcino
The Brunello di Montalcino wine region is one of the most prestigious regions in Tuscany, Italy, south of the city of Siena. The region is known for producing Brunello wine, which is stylish and long-aged wine made exclusively from the Sangiovese Grosso grape. Montalcino's terroir thrives in the Mediterranean climate with varying soils, high elevation and sunny days. Most importantly, Brunello di Montalcino is officially recognized as DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) and thus one of Italy's most sought-after regions.
