Gaja is one of Italy’s most iconic wine producers, based in the town of Barbaresco , in the heart of the Langhe in Piedmont. The winery was founded in 1977 by Lucia Gaja and Angelo Gaja and remains family-owned. Today, Angelo Gaja is considered one of the most influential figures in modern Italian winemaking – often referred to as “the undisputed king of Barbaresco” and the man who brought Piedmont into the modern wine world.
