Castello di Ama Vigneto Bellavista 2019 is an exclusive Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG from Tuscany, Italy. The wine comes from the renowned single vineyard Bellavista at Castello di Ama and is only produced in the best vintages, with an annual production of approximately 5,000–6,000 bottles.

The 2019 vintage is composed of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Malvasia Nera, giving the wine a special combination of classic Chianti freshness, aromatic complexity, and silky smooth structure. According to producer and importer materials, the Malvasia Nera is fermented for 26 days, after which the wines are transferred to barriques for malolactic fermentation and aged for 14 months, of which 40% is in new, fine-grained barriques and the remainder in one-year-old barrels.

In the glass, the wine presents a brilliant ruby red color and a complex nose with notes of exotic dark berries, pomegranate, tobacco, wild berries, crushed minerality, rose, and minty herbs. The taste is juicy, silky, and nuanced with beautiful concentration, precise depth, and an elegant structure that makes it both inviting now and built for further aging.

The glorious Bellavista Vineyard appears under the sunlight over the slope of a hill as you approach Castello di Ama. The 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Bellavista is only produced in the very best vintages, and annual production hovers from 5,000 to 6,000 bottles. Production was skipped in 2017, 2014, 2012 and 2010. This stunning wine reveals beautiful concentration with just the right amount of fruit weight, which feels rich but not heavy. The wine also appears compact and firm, with outstanding depth that is teased across aromas of wild berry fruit, crushed mineral, rose, tobacco and minty herb. The wine's complexity unfolds carefully with time in the glass.

Brilliant dark ruby red. Opens hesitantly on the nose, fine resinous notes paired with rich cherry fruit, dried rose petal and light savouriness. Very juicy on the palate with clear fruit, shows a lot of raciness, plus young, fresh tannins in many layers, still needs some time, will come together splendidly.
