Château Brane-Cantenac – Margaux 2009 (75 cl) is a generous and elegant Bordeaux from Château Brane-Cantenac, showcasing the best of the warm and sunny 2009 vintage.

Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the wine opens with intense aromas of ripe dark berries such as blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum, accompanied by floral notes, cedar, spices, and a hint of dark chocolate.

On the palate, it is full-bodied and round with soft, ripe tannins, a dense fruit core, and a harmonious structure. The finish is long, persistent, and elegant with classic Margaux finesse.

The 2009 vintage is both approachable and age-worthy, with the wine already displaying beautiful complexity, yet still holding potential for further development.

Exceptional weather, and this is showcasing all the charms of the vintage. Firm and vibrant dark ruby in colour, so much depth to the berry fruit, intact, juicy, laced with tobacco, cocoa bean, fragrant rose petal. A total standout, easy to love, one to track down, confirms its success in my recent 2009/2010 retrospective. Harvest September 22 to October 9, 48.4hm/h yield, 70% new French oak barrels, 3.72ph.
