The wine opens with elegant aromas of wild raspberries, strawberries, roses, tobacco and black truffle. On the palate it shows dark berries, dense structure, earthy tannins and great depth, followed by a long and complex finish. Showing more tobacco, leather, cranberry and freshly-tilled soil, this is a bolder style of Nebbiolo. The Oddero 2020 Barolo Villero has an interlude of sweet cherry and plump fruit, but then it veers towards tart fruit flavors followed by fine powdery tannins. Smoothness is a theme that continues throughout. It ages in large French oak casks and spends six months in cement vat to better integrate. Production is 6,000 bottles.

Dried flowers, truffles, ground coriander and sour cherries on the nose. Some lemon zest. It's bright, firm and compact, with a full body and chewy tannins. Bright acidity. Lots of energy on the long and continuous finish. Try after 2027.
