Château Branaire-Ducru – Saint-Julien 2016 (75 cl) is a classic and exceptionally successful Bordeaux from Château Branaire-Ducru, where elegance and structure unite perfectly.

The wine is primarily based on Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, offering complex aromas of blackcurrant, black cherries, and blackberries, accompanied by notes of cedar, graphite, and fine spices.

On the palate, it is precise and well-structured with a dense fruit core, firm yet silky tannins, and a fresh acidity that gives the wine both energy and balance. The finish is long, nuanced, and elegant.

The 2016 vintage is known as one of the best in recent times and has great aging potential, where the wine will develop even greater complexity over the coming decades.

The 2016 Branaire-Ducru is a real classic, and in the fullness of time, it will likely rival or even surpass the more charming, demonstrative 2019. Unwinding in the glass with deep aromas of dark berries, cassis, loamy soil, pencil shavings and cigar smoke, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a taut, structured profile and a long, penetrating finish.
