The 2022 Château L’Eglise‑Clinet is one of the most acclaimed Pomerol wines of the vintage, described as “heart-stopping” and “cashmere on the palate” by critics. It opens with a striking, floral and complex aroma of violets, cocoa, mint leaves, cherry liqueur, dark and red plums, as well as subtle notes of espresso and chocolate.

A grand, sensual, intense, and almost perfectly balanced Pomerol – crafted for long aging and great moments.

The wine is made from 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, harvested between September 3-9, which was the earliest harvest in the château's history.

This is a wine that needs time in the bottle and in the glass, serious and well built, with body and character, and merits extra ageing. The texture brings us into the heart of Pomerol, or rather its heights, with luscious but reserved quality and the intellectual edge of L’Eglise Clinet. Crushed roses and violets set against dark cassis and blueberry fruits, just brilliant. Harvest September 3 to 9. 85% new oak, harvest September 3 to 9. Noemie Durantou and Olivier Gautrat.

Offering up deep aromas of mulberries and cassis mingled with incense, licorice, rose petals, spices and hints of new oak, the 2022 L'Eglise Clinet is full-bodied, deep and layered, with an elegantly muscular core of ripe but vibrant fruit that's framed by sweet, powdery tannins. Concentrated and multidimensional, it concludes with a long, resonant finish. A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, harvested between September 3 and 9, this compelling Pomerol checks in at a largely concealed 14.6% alcohol.
