Château Palmer 3ème Cru Classé 2021 is an exclusive red wine from Margaux in Bordeaux, France, from a château classified as Troisième Cru Classé. The 2021 vintage is composed of 56% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Petit Verdot, with the harvest taking place from September 24 to October 15, 2021. Château Palmer itself describes the vintage as characterized by moderation, harmony, and a remarkably fine tannin structure.

In the glass, Château Palmer 2021 presents an elegant and refined style, where dark berries, cassis, cherries, violets, and subtle spicy nuances create a complex and sophisticated expression. The taste is silky smooth, precise, and harmonious, with freshness, beautiful depth, and a long, nuanced finish where fruit, finesse, and classic Margaux character shine through beautifully. The château itself emphasizes the wine's balance and its roots in "moderation and harmony," which underscores the vintage's elegant profile.

Château Palmer 2021 pairs particularly well with beef, lamb, game, duck, braised dishes, and mature cheeses. It is an ideal wine for those seeking a grand Bordeaux with both elegance, complexity, and classic French finesse. Supplied in 75 cl.

The 2021 Palmer has turned out beautifully in bottle, wafting from the glass with expressive aromas of blackberries, cherries and mulberries mingled with notions of iris, dark chocolate and spices. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with an enveloping core of succulent fruit framed by rich, sweet tannins, it concludes with a long, expansive finish. It's a blend of 56% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate

This juicy wine has aromatic black fruits that give way to cinnamon spices and intense acidity along with dark, plush blackberry fruits. Wait to drink this impressive wine until 2028. Biodynamic.

Vivid ruby and violet colour, this is a brilliant wine, inky and with clear supple give to the tannins. Give it a full 8 to 10 years before drinking, and here you feel that they have sacrificed very little to the vintage, this feels entirely Palmer in character. Savoury but abundant blue and black fruits, plenty of crayon, cocoa bean and slate, with a floral prettiness and a mouthwatering finish. 27hl/ha yield, harvest September 24 to October 16, 55% new oak (first year in barrel, second year in larger oak casks of 3,000l).

Dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. On the nose, fine nuances of oak and liquorice, ripe cherries, subtle hints of cloves and cinnamon, candied orange zest. Medium-bodied and tightly meshed with notes of red cherry, a lively acidic structure and red berries on the finish. An elegant and animating food wine with definite ageing potential, but lacks the usual volume. (9/1/2024, store, drink + 25)

About the grape

Serving
