Chateau Rauzan-Segla, Margaux, 2023, 75cl

The 2023 Rauzan-Ségla is pure and seamless, exhibiting aromas of cherries and cassis, pencil shavings and a nicely integrated patina of new oak. Medium- to full-bodied, layered and fleshy, with a rich core of fruit, sweet tannins and lively acids, it concludes with a long, penetrating finish.

This 74-hectare estate, under the ownership of Chanel and direction of Nicolas Audebert, goes from strength to strength. Rather morcellated, the vineyards are being restructured, with replanting at higher densities and with superior clones. Winemaking is pure and precise, delivering a sensual, suave style.
