Château Suduiraut 2009 is an exclusive sweet wine from Sauternes in Bordeaux, France, which combines intensity, elegance, and great complexity into a luxurious and refined expression. The wine is a beautiful example of why Sauternes is considered among the world's greatest dessert wines, and the 2009 vintage offers an impressive balance between rich sweetness, freshness, and depth. It is a wine with charm, concentration, and classic French finesse.

On the nose, the wine opens with intense nuances of apricot, honey, peach, and candied citrus, beautifully complemented by notes of tropical fruit, vanilla, saffron, and fine toasted undertones. The aromatic profile is rich, complex, and inviting, with layers upon layers of ripe fruit and noble sweetness. The taste is full-bodied, creamy, and silky smooth, with a fine balance between concentrated fruit, vibrant acidity, and a long, lingering finish. Here, notes of honey, orange peel, dried fruit, and spices elegantly merge, creating a wine experience with both depth and freshness.

Château Suduiraut 2009 pairs particularly well with foie gras, blue cheese, fruit desserts, tarts, and desserts with citrus or stone fruit. It also works excellently on its own as an exclusive glass for special moments. This is an ideal wine for those seeking a great Sauternes with intensity, complexity, and timeless elegance.

Vibrant and dense, the 2009 Suduiraut reveals a complex, deep bouquet of ripe orchard fruits, dry apricots, spices, pineapple, exotic fruits and spices. This is followed by a medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated palate with a seamless texture and a fleshy core of fruit that finishes long, mineral and saline, underlining beautifully controlled power. With 160 grams of residual sugar, the highest level in this vertical tasting, this blend of 93% Sémillon and 7% Sauvignon Blanc was matured for 18 months in 50% new oak barrels and 50% one-year-old barrels. Harvested in three tries, the yield stands at 19 hectoliters per hectare. - Yohan Castaing, The Wine Advocate.

Yummy young Sauternes with caramel, honey, dried apples, pears, and tarte tatin. Full body, layered and compacted. Medium sweet and a flavorful finish. So much to come still. Give it three or four years to understand all it has.

Medium golden yellow with silver hues, subtle brightening on the rim. Refined yellow stone fruit nuances, honey and caramel, fresh orange zest, a bit restrained, still needs time to develop on the nose. On the palate, very powerful, yellow tropical fruit, bright honey, mineral-salty undertones, wood, great length, a refined note of mint on the finish, still miles away from maturity. More patience is needed here in comparison with all the other wines. Definitely wait, expect it to be drinking well in five years.

The new-wood smokiness is an important element of this creamy-textured wine. The richness bares flavors of honey, botrytis, almond and orange peel. Ripe and age worthy, this wine's opulence is just beginning to show.

About the grape
