Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Nuits-Saint-Georges “Les Plateaux” 2022 is a classic and characterful Pinot Noir that showcases Nuits-Saint-Georges' more structured and earthy expression. The wine opens with aromas of dark cherries, blackberries and fine spices, complemented by light notes of forest floor and minerality.

The taste is concentrated and well-balanced with firm but elegant tannin structure, fresh acidity and a nice depth of fruit. The 2022 vintage contributes maturity and balance, without compromising the wine's elasticity and precision.

A wine with both finesse and backbone, particularly well suited to heartier dishes such as beef, game and mushroom dishes – and which also has potential for further aging.

The wood spices are a bit pronounced at the moment, but there is no shortage of minerality, depth and nuanced complexity on the nose, which shows fine white pepper. spices, bergamot, red berries, orange rind and stones. Structured for a pinot, but polished and quite elegant for a warm year, with extraction giving an ethereal quality to the red berry fruit that flows towards a lengthy finish. Mossy forest floor and subtle sweet spice flavors at the end make it quite captivating. Give it three more years to settle and develop.
