Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 2012 is an iconic vintage champagne from Champagne, France, created as the house's prestige cuvée and one of the finest expressions of Blanc de Blancs. The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay from the five Grand Cru villages in Côte des Blancs: Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Oger, and Mesnil-sur-Oger.
The 2012 vintage is considered by Taittinger to be an outstanding Champagne vintage. Despite a challenging growing year with frost and hail, low yields and fine ripening resulted in a wine with beautiful harmony, balance, and exceptional aging potential.
In the glass, Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 2012 shows great finesse and precision. The style is clean, fresh, and refined, with classic notes of citrus, white flowers, chalky minerality, brioche, and discreet toasted nuances, which are characteristic of the house's great Chardonnay-based champagnes. A small portion of the wine, about 5%, is aged in fresh oak barrels to add elegant toasted notes to the finished cuvée.
The champagne is aged for up to 10 years in Taittinger's chalk cellars under Saint-Nicaise before release, contributing to its complex, mature, and yet vibrant style. The result is an exclusive champagne with both energy, depth, and a long, sophisticated finish.
This exclusive Blanc de Blancs champagne pairs particularly well with oysters, lobster, caviar, fish, seafood, and elegant appetizers, but is also an excellent choice as a luxurious aperitif or for special celebrations. The product is delivered in 75 cl.
