Château Calon-Ségur – Saint-Estèphe 2016 (75 cl) is a classic and exceptionally successful Bordeaux from Château Calon-Ségur, where power and elegance unite.

The wine is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, offering complex aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, and blackberry, accompanied by notes of graphite, cedarwood, and fine spices.

On the palate, it is deep and well-structured with a dense fruit core, firm yet silky tannins, and a fresh acidity that gives the wine both energy and balance. The finish is long, nuanced, and persistent with great depth.

The 2016 vintage is considered among the best in recent times and has great aging potential, where the wine will develop even greater complexity over the coming decades.

Composed of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Calon-Segur was aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 20 months. It has a deep garnet-purple color and nose of warm blackberries, cassis, black cherries and licorice with touches of roses and dark chocolate. Complex on the palate with ripe cherries, well integrated ripe tannins, pleasant fruit extract on the finish, good freshness, fine fruit in the echo, great ageing potential.
