Deep purple-black colored, the 2020 La Gaffeliere gallops out of the glass with exuberant scents of crushed black plums, boysenberries and fresh blackberries, plus hints of eucalyptus, dark chocolate, crushed rocks and iron ore, with a waft of lavender. Cabernet Franc - Merlot

Cabernet Franc – Merlot er en klassisk variant af det røde Bordeaux‑blend, særligt forbundet med Right Bank‑områderne Saint‑Émilion og Pomerol, hvor nogle af verdens mest prestigefyldte vine skabes på netop denne kombination.

Merlot udgør typisk hoveddelen af blendet og bidrager med moden mørk frugt, blød mundfølelse og rund struktur, med smagsnoter af blomme, mørke bær og ofte et strejf af chokolade. Cabernet Franc giver til gengæld aromatisk løft, floralitet, friskhed og krydderi, og dens karakteristiske urtede noter og elegante tanninprofil tilføjer kompleksitet og finesse.
