Château Palmer 3ème Cru Classé 2022 is an iconic red wine from Margaux in Bordeaux, France, where the vintage is composed of 45% Merlot, 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Petit Verdot. The grapes were harvested from September 7th to October 5th, 2022, and the estate describes the vintage as both powerful and fruit-driven with remarkable freshness and a beautiful balance between acidity, alcohol, and tannins.

In the glass, Château Palmer 2022 presents a deep and sophisticated profile, with notes of blackberry, cassis, dark cherries, violet, tobacco, and spices creating an intense and elegant aromatic picture. The taste is full-bodied, silky, and concentrated with fine tannins, great precision, and a long, harmonious finish where both dark fruit and classic Margaux finesse clearly emerge. Several descriptions of the vintage specifically highlight the wine's combination of sensuality, freshness, and structure.

Château Palmer 2022 pairs particularly well with beef, lamb, game, duck, braised dishes, and aged cheeses. It is a wine for those seeking a great Bordeaux with depth, elegance, and impressive aging potential. Supplied in 75 cl.

Points, passion and precision

98 /100
One of the most refined and seamless wines of the vintage is the 2025 Palmer, a blend of 55% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot that wafts from the glass with aromas of sweet blackberries, plums and licorice complemented by floral accents of violet and wisteria (yes, the window of the tasting room was closed). Full-bodied, suave and layered, with a deep and concentrated core of fruit, bright acids and supple tannins, it's already harmonious and complete, concluding with a long, penetrating finish. At only 13.5% alcohol, this is quite a bit lower than most recent sunny vintages at Palmer. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate

About the grape

Serving
